Some people think a teacher's job is easy because they get to go home by 3 or 4pm and enjoy school breaks. Little do people know about the work that happens when students leave. Teachers practically work round the clock. They have to deal with the students, parents and the school management.  I haven't seen any teacher who likes making lesson planning. They are written for every lesson. Imagine writing lesson plans for 4 lessons each week and meeting the deadline.   Truth be told, I began to teach by chance, not by will. ''Do not despise the days of your little beginnings'' they say. An absolute truth. The job of a teacher is a difficult one. You have to be responsible for children's well-being while they are in school. It's more like parenting children who aren't yours. If you are irresponsible, please do not think about it. It takes a sane and positive-minded person to do this job. Sometimes it gets crazy, but you must be the superhero and save every situation. As a teacher, you are a role model, a leader, an instructor, a councillor, a parent, a friend, a guardian, name it, you are everything to these children. You are responsible for how they behave and who they become by the time they leave your class. We create a lasting bond with these children and their parents.   The Capital City - The Money City When one moves to Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, it is with the hopes that life will be better, new opportunities will be met, new connections (most especially with the government), contracts, new found love life and everything new, different and exciting.  I started my life as an NYSC member. Corper Weeeeeeee???? If you know you know! How long have you been in Abuja? When did you arrive? How have you been? Abuja might be a small city but it's the cutest city in Nigeria. Lagos people will disagree but this is a fact. The city is clean, well-planned and structured, with beautiful high-class restaurants, the biggest estate in West Africa (Gwarinpa), a mix of people from diverse backgrounds, the Hausa vibes and the city of rich politicians.  Hi SeeThru-ers, I did go home for nothing if I don't explore Mama's food. You see, I come from Akwa Ibom State, the home of good food and the best cook in Nigeria. You will agree with me that I am not exaggerating. If you have not visited Akwa Ibom, are you even serious? Don't you like good food? Haven't you heard about their women? Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha You know how you tell mummy you are coming home and she takes her time to make that special delicacy, cooked in the local kitchen, with local ingredients on a firewood stove.  FOOD, TRAVEL & SHOPPING There are three things I indeed love to do - travelling, shopping and trying new foods. The down point of these is that they both require money and I AM NOT RICH (rolls eyes). But my love for these adventures never ceases. I took short trips as much as I can around my country, Nigeria until I finally left for Canada, just in January 2023.  Let's see where I was able to travel while in my home country. Well, not much.
